Izzy, 12, has two goals in mind — to one day become a doctor so she can help people with limited access to medical care and to build her family a safe home that can withstand the heavy flooding from typhoons that are common in the Philippines. Her mother, who is a solo parent, operates a small convenience store, and sponsorship ensures Izzy's schooling is paid for.
